WE DO GROOMING DIFFERENTLY. 

WHAT DOG GROOMERS DO:

  • In and out approach​

  • Clock watching to fit into a tight schedule 

  • Busy, loud environment with multiple dogs being groomed or roaming around

  • Pulling limbs and grabbing scruffs to restrain during a groom

  • Using balance or aversive methods to get the job done 

  • No client care or owner debrief upon pick up

  • Cheap, nasty products that contain harmful chemicals 

  • Blanket approach to every dog and blacklist any behave badly

WHAT WE DO:

  • Mandatory meet and greet with every new client to gather all their personal and emergency information, pet history, and a chance for everyone to meet us and see the salon before committing to us!​

  • Optional pre-work packages = meaning your dog (with or without you) can come spend some time getting to know us in the salon before we even go near a bath or pair of clippers! 

  • We work off of a truly ethical, force-free approach, meaning we won't ever traumatise your dog to get a quick result... In fact, we always allow plenty of time for every single groom - less pressure for your pup and our staff!​

  • With our team trained in Pet First Aid and Canine Body Language, we vow to take it at the dog's pace - if they need a break, we take one. And if it all get's too much, we will stop where we are, contact you and talk over a plan ready to try again another time. 

  • Instead we work off of the Sunflower Paws "Educate to Advocate" approach, where we will actively communicate with you about how your dog is doing during every part of the grooming process. PLUS we'll work with you, giving you tailored expert advice on how to help your dog in between sessions! 

  • Our environment sets your dog up for success with it's positive, considered and compassionate vibes. 

  • We use quality products that may cost us more, but we think it's worth it! 

  • Each dog has their own detailed records with us, including behavioural progress, owner feedback, which tailored mix of products we used, and more! 

  • Finally, we don't discriminate. Every dog deserves a chance, that's why we have designed our entire business model to centre around THEIR individual needs! 

BUT WHY DO ALL THIS? 

Well, unlike our competitors, we are a true animal rights company. We understand how overwhelming the grooming process can be for both pups and their owners, so we're ready to put our time where our mouth is and use our professional skills and personal knowledge to cater for each and every set of paws. 

Ethical grooming does exist and we've been preparing for this for a long time, our goal is to lead the way in another corner of our industry.
